Bread Bakers Guild and New Mixer!
As I enter year TWO (!) of baking for our neighborhood, I took two big steps: purchase a brand new commercial-style mixer, to make baking on a larger scale WAY easy, and to join the welcoming community of the Bread Bakers Guild of America.
“The Bread Bakers Guild of America is an independent and creative group of current and aspiring bakery owners, professional bakers, cottage operators, ingredient and equipment suppliers, educators, students, serious home bakers, and more. We are dedicated to producing great baked goods and committed to the health of our businesses, workers, and communities.” - Guild website (www.bbga.org)
I always had a strong hesitation to identify myself as a “baker” and felt like I had to provide some kind of “proof” (get it?) to show my accolades as a professional, as so many of us do, when we work at mastering something new, but this community, YOU, have done so much in helping me feel legitimate, useful, and worthy of the title of “baker.” Adding this work into my life’s rhythm has been a great gift, and it would not be possible without your support.
Thank you all so much! And here’s to a great and toast-filled 2026!
